This is the first year for our Kappa Kookout! It is our new spring philanthropy event, benefiting the Nehemiah Center of Navasota. The Nehemiah Center is an after-school program for the children of Navasota. Not only does Kappa raise money to donate to the programs at Nehemiah, but numerous Kappas also travel to Navasota on a weekly basis to tutor and play with the children. In addition, Kappa holds an annual Reading is Fundamental event at Nehemiah, in which books are donated and Kappas emphasize the importance of reading with the kids. Nehemiah is a program that is very dear to Kappa, and we are very privileged to get the opportunity to impact the lives of these children.
This year, Kappa Kookout will be held on April 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kappa Kappa Gamma House at 1502 Athens Drive. A ticket to Kappa Kookout includes a hamburger, chips and a drink, along with a cookie. Come out to enjoy great food and live music, and to support the kids at the Nehemiah Center of Navasota.
At this point, you may only buy tickets at the door, at the time of the event for $7, cash only. Also, if you would like to donate, you can donate to the Nehemiah Center of Navasota in Kappa’s name at Kappa Kookout tonight! If you are planning on making a donation tonight, please bring it in check form. These donations will be added to the proceeds that will be donated after the event. Thank you so much for your interest in Kappa Kookout and we look forward to seeing you all tonight!
